That is why the show is held without spectators, among other things, and a number of other things that viewers will be used to from the singing competition have changed this year.
Here are the facts about how the competition is conducted:
* This year the show will be held in DR Byens Studie 5, which viewers know from programs such as “X Factor” and “Versus”.
* The number of songs has been cut from ten to eight.
* This year, it is exclusively the TV viewers who in the evening decide who wins.
* Usually a professional jury participates, which also has a say, but this year the jury has chosen only the eight participants. They should not vote for the show.
* In the first round on Saturday night, this year’s songs will have to be cut from eight to three.
* In the second round, the winner of the Danish Melody Grand Prix 2021 must be found out of the three remaining songs.
* Viewers can vote via SMS or app. SMS must be sent to 1212 and costs one kroner plus SMS rate. If you want to vote via the app, you must download the DR Grand Prix in the App Store or Google Play.
* The winner must represent Denmark at the European Melody Grand Prix, Eurovision Song Contest, which this year will be held in Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
