Thomas Senderovitz stops immediately and has the last working day on Tuesday as director of the Danish Medicines Agency.
– It is with a proper lump in my throat that I have chosen to seek new challenges. It is not always possible to plan when new opportunities will arise. It has not been an easy choice as I am leaving a fantastic workplace, he says in the press release.
– The Danish Medicines Agency, together with the other health authorities, continues to face a major task with the handling of covid-19. But I feel completely safe as I leave a board full of dedicated employees and a towering professionalism. It has been a great pleasure to be a director for almost 5 years, he continues.
Thomas Senderovitz did not want to comment further on his departure.
Senderovitz took up the job as director of the Danish Medicines Agency in 2016.
He is not the only senior director of a corona-responsible board that has left the post since the start of the pandemic.
Kåre Mølbak, the former director of the Statens Serum Institut, left the position when he retired in November last year.
