The section deals with whether “the offense has a background in or connection with the covid-19 epidemic in Denmark” and can double the sentence. And the demonstration was all about coronary restrictions.
– Are you with? Are we done accepting that shit? So let’s smash it, friends, it sounded according to the indictment, among other things, when the woman shouted into a microphone on a podium in front of 400 people on the Town Hall Square in Copenhagen.
The woman, who is the mother of two children aged five and two, denies guilt.
– One should smash the city with noise – in a non-violent way. I by no means think I have incited anything, she said in court on Wednesday.
She explains that she is fighting for stricter penalties in pedophilia cases. She is therefore a familiar face in the activist milieu, and that was the reason why she was asked to speak.
The January 9 demonstration, organized by the Men In Black movement, developed violently. Among other things, this resulted in riots on Rådhuspladsen, where things and fireworks were thrown.
According to the indictment, at least 16 officers were hit by objects.
During her explanation, the accused woman tells that she tried to quell the unrest. Especially because she had shown her face on the rostrum and “would not be put in a stall as a violent psychopath”.
The woman has been in custody since January 28.
Prosecutor Henrik Uhl Pedersen is serving a prison sentence for the woman. A punishment that can thus be doubled if she is convicted under the special section 81d on offenses related to the covid-19 epidemic.
The verdict in the case falls on Friday at 12.30.
Several have been arrested in the wake of the demonstration, and a string of cases are expected at Copenhagen City Court in March and April.
