He was also charged with sending photos to a 13-year-old girl, but that part of the case he is acquitted of.
The football player was at the time of the violations on contract with a club in the Super League. However, he is protected by a name ban, which has been extended to also apply during a possible appeal.
The name ban makes it forbidden to publish information that could identify him.
The trial on Thursday, however, ran without the protagonist himself. He chose to stay away and agreed that the case could be processed without him.
It was on Snapchat in March 2020 that the football player sent three pictures of his erect limb to the 14-year-old girl and among other things wrote: “You just have to play a little with”.
He also posted a video where he masturbates and wrote “would you not like my cock up in you right now then”.
Although the football player did not give an explanation on Thursday, it has emerged that he has admitted that he sent the video and the pictures, but he denies that he knew the girl was under 15 years old.
He was also accused of sending several photos of her undressed body on Snapchat to a 13-year-old girl and requesting photos of her in lingerie and bikini and asking if she was mature for her age.
However, the court did not find it was a violation of the girl. Among other things, because in those pictures you do not see his genitals.
Prosecutor Julie Binau has explained that the football player first liked photos of the girls on Instagram and subsequently added them on Snapchat.
The girls’ explanation has been behind closed doors, so it has not been possible to hear.
The footballer and the prosecution now have a deadline of 14 days to consider whether the verdict should be appealed.
