The fire on Violvej was reported on Saturday shortly before 5 pm. The report went on smoke from an apartment.
In the apartment, firefighters found two people, a 33-year-old woman and her six-year-old son. The boy was dead while the woman was still alive.
According to police, her condition is critical.
At the South East Jutland Police, head of investigation Frede Nissen on Sunday morning does not want to provide further information about what the police believe has happened.
It is thus still unknown whether the woman is accused of having killed the boy before the fire, or whether it is a murder fire.
The local media already reported on the fire on Saturday and could in that connection tell that the police were present at the address.
Fredericia Dagblad observed, among other things, that the police forensic technicians were present. But the South East Jutland Police did not provide any information on what it was about.
Bø Gøgsig, duty officer in charge of operations at the regional station TV Syd, told the local emergency services, TrekantBrand, that the report was received at 16.55, and that the operation had been completed half an hour later.
– The fire is concentrated in a single apartment. This means that it has not spread to the neighboring apartment or the roof construction, Bo Gøgsig told TV Syd on Saturday night.
Sunday’s constitutional hearing is scheduled to begin at 10 am in the Court in Kolding. The South East Jutland Police have stated that closed doors will be requested so that the public does not have access to the information that will be presented at the court hearing.
