After the Easter holidays, more of the country’s children and young people can look forward to seeing more of their peers.
A broad majority in the Folketing has late Monday night landed an agreement that ensures that, among other things, students in 5th-8th grade on Zealand, Jutland and Funen can get more to school. Exactly 50 percent of the time with physical attendance every other week.
The same applies to non-graduating students in upper secondary education in the same places.
It appears from the text of the agreement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
– I think that the fact that you all come back means that people start to rejoice, says SF chairman Pia Olsen Dyhr.
– That the packed lunches are lubricated and the school bags packed, I think there is a lot of expectation in that. But also that it gives a sense of security in everyday life, that you now know that you have to see your peers, she says.
It appears from the text of the agreement that the reopening is valid from 6 April to 20 April.
This is because the reopening phases will in future be based on intervals of 14 days between the phases.
All parliamentary parties except Nye Borgerlige are part of the agreement, which also includes a long-term plan for the reopening, opening of liberal professions and other things.
The party left the talks earlier Monday.
The latest change in the children’s attendance has just come into force on Monday.
Here, there is only full attendance for all students in primary and lower secondary education on Bornholm and the country’s other non-bridged islands.
As of today, Monday, graduating students in primary and secondary education in the metropolitan area have been upgraded from one day of weekly attendance outdoors to 50 percent physical attendance.
However, this does not apply in the municipalities of Brøndby, Albertslund and Høje-Taastrup, because the infection rates here are too high.
In the three municipalities, the pupils from 5th grade and up are only in school one day a week, and the same applies to the pupils in the upper secondary educations.
Children’s well-being has been the topic that has been at the top of the agenda for most parties after a year of much homeschooling during the corona crisis.
This has led to dissatisfaction among many children who at times have been barred from seeing their peers.
– We have decided that we must make a well-being package and have a look at the well-being package that has been made, says Pia Olsen Dyhr.
– But also make sure that the professional backlog does not sink, for example in half a year or in a year. But that we get picked up on it along the way, she says.
Monday’s negotiations began at 12 noon and lasted for almost 12 hours.
The text of the agreement also states that all graduate students in higher education with many elements of practice can return with 50 percent physical attendance.
All other students in higher education can return with 20 percent attendance.
Many students have been referred to distance learning.
