And even more municipalities may be closed down to a greater or lesser degree in the coming time. This is what Bente Møller, head of unit and chief physician at the Danish Agency for Patient Safety, says.
– Local closures are one of the prerequisites for us to be able to open society more.
– We have a sharpened focus on all municipalities with incidence figures of over 100 and have daily contact with those municipalities, she says.
With the latest infection figures from the Statens Serum Institut on Thursday, it is clear that a total of 27 municipalities throughout the country have had more than 100 infected per 100,000 inhabitants over the past seven days.
It is the so-called incidence figure that makes the alarm shine red with the authorities.
The number converts the number of confirmed cases into a fixed population, so that the infection can be compared across the country.
Right now, the Danish Agency for Patient Safety is also focusing on Kolding, Odense and Esbjerg, but especially on the capital area.
Local closures have been highlighted by Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen (S) as an essential part of the plan to reopen Danish society step by step over the coming months.
According to the Danish Agency for Patient Safety, the closure of schools and SFOs is just one of several tools that can be used.
Day care centers, youth educations and higher education can also be closed, just as the agency can cooperate with other authorities to close the shops.
– We always have a dialogue across authorities about what tools are to be used to reduce the infection, says Bente Møller.
