In related news, Denmark got off to a good start in its qualifying campaign for the World Cup in 2022 last night by beating Israel 2-0 in Tel Aviv.
Martin Braithwaite and Jonas Wind scored the goals.
The Danes will next meet Moldova at home on Sunday and Austria away on Wednesday next week.
Under-21 wins first group game
The Danish under-21 side also had success last night by beating France 1-0 in their Euro 2021 opener – a tournament whose format has been radically changed due to coronary restrictions.
The French dominated possession for much of the match, but Anders Dreyer stunned the favorites with a goal 15 minutes ahead of time.
The Danes will meet Iceland next on Sunday in the group, followed by Russia on Wednesday next week, in an attempt to carry out the knockout phase with eight teams, played from 31 May to 6 June.
