On Saturday shortly before midnight, several shots were fired with a rifle in Snejbjerg, which is a suburb of Herning.
This is stated by duty officer Simon Skelkjær at the Central and West Jutland Police on Sunday morning.
There are no immediate reports of injuries, and neither the motive nor the group of people involved are known yet, the chief of guards says.
– We have a presumption that someone has been shot at, says Simon Skelkjær.
A parked car nearby was hit, which according to the chief of guards is believed to be a coincidence.
The episode took place around 11.40 pm on Saturday, when several reports were received by the police that shots had been heard near Sydgaden.
When the police arrived at the scene, technical clues were secured, and on that basis it has been established that it was a shot from a rifle.
Exactly how many shots were fired, the chief of guards does not want to make a bid.
After the shots were heard, a car with several people fled the scene. There were probably four people in the car, which was stolen in Aarhus the day before, the police inform.
The burnt-out car has since been found near a forest area near Brande.
On Sunday morning, the police are still investigating Snejbjerg.
– If anyone has information about the episode, they are very welcome to contact us, says Simon Skelkjær.
