It writes the board in a press release.
The upscaling means that up to 300,000 lightning tests can potentially be performed every day. Until now, it has been possible to test 200,000 citizens daily. The daily capacity for the more reliable, but also more expensive and slower PCR tests is around 200,000.
It is the partial reopening that began on Tuesday that has led to the need to test far more for coronavirus.
As part of the reopening, it has become a requirement that you must be able to present a negative coronal test before you can be allowed to sit in the hairdresser’s chair, for example.
In addition, several of the country’s school and high school students on Tuesday returned to a more normal everyday life, and this has also led to increased demand for tests. Here there are calls or requirements for up to two weekly tests.
The rules have already led to violent bustle and hour-long queues at the country’s PCR and lightning test centers.
Since Monday, there have been responses to 182,186 PCR samples and 201,026 lightning tests, which is a record.
According to the Danish Agency for Security of Supply, however, the long queues will not necessarily disappear when more can be tested.
– It is therefore encouraged that you utilize all test sites, their full opening hours, and that you utilize all days of the week, the agency writes.
It is also planned that the total test capacity will be increased. 700,000 citizens must be able to be tested a day during May, the government has stated.
