A third Limfjord connection, new motorways to Kalundborg and Hillerød as well as a study of a fixed connection between Als and Fyn.
These are some of the elements that the government will present on Thursday in a proposal to strengthen the Danish infrastructure for the next many years.
It writes TV2, which has gained insight into parts of, but not the whole plot.
Transport Minister Benny Engelbrecht (S) tells TV2 that the government’s plan is both to strengthen public transport and to make more and better roads for cars.
– It is a comprehensive plan for the whole of Denmark, where we want to strengthen the infrastructure. Whether you live in the city or in the country, you must be able to get there, says Benny Engelbrecht to the TV station.
The proposal from the government comes two years after the then VLAK government and the Danish People’s Party agreed on a total plan for 112 billion kroner.
However, the plan never materialized when the political majority changed in connection with the parliamentary elections in the summer of 2019.
TV2 writes that several of the elements in the current government’s proposal are recurring from the agreement between the VLAK government and the Danish People’s Party. These include the new Limfjord connection and the motorways to Kalundborg and Hillerød.
The government will present the overall plan on Thursday at 12. After this, the government will negotiate an agreement in place with a majority in the Folketing.
DR has also gained insight into parts of the plan and talked to the government’s support parties SF and the Unity List about the plan.
From both parties, there are several criticisms of the scheme. Among other things, they do not believe that the desire for more motorways will meet the climate, which is at the heart of the two parties.
– You can not just post a whole lot of money out in many new highways without it also affecting the climate, says the Unity List’s political spokesperson, Mai Villadsen, to DR.
