- Heart failure and stroke are becoming more common in men under 40, according to a study from the University of Gothenburg. Researchers see a link to obesity and poor fitness in the upper teens. However, the heart effects decrease.
- The study is made of over 1.2 million men who enlisted at the age of 18, which was then followed just over twenty years ahead.
- The fact that things are going in different directions suggests that other factors also come into play, such as stress and drug use. Reduced smoking is probably behind the fewer heart attacks.
