A total of 14 illegal USB connectors have been found in several operations in the countryโs prisons, two of which were hidden on the controversial content.
โ Group Security can state that the scope of the material is limited and that part of the material is of older date, the Danish Prison and Probation Service writes in the report โTargeted security efforts against USB connectors in closed prisons and arrestsโ.
Both stabbings with extremist material were found in Storstrรธm Prison. A third sting found in the prison contained so-called nasheeds, which is an ancient genre of religious hymns in Islam. However, the content was not judged to be militant Islamist in nature.
The Danish Prison and Probation Service states that there has been a special focus on preventing electronic objects such as USB connectors or mobile phones from being smuggled into prisons and arrests.
Among other things, prison officers pay extra attention to the objects during cell inspections and visitations.
Among other things, this happened after a tip that illegal plugs had been plugged into USB inputs behind the televisions in Storstrรธm Prison.
โ It has also been introduced that all USB inputs in ward and cell TV that have not already been made inactive must be deactivated by sealing or manual damage to these, the Danish Prison and Probation Service writes in a press release.
In addition to Storstrรธm Prison, illegal USB connectors have also been found in Nรธrre Snede Prison.
Out of a total of 14 plugs found, 12 of them were found on common areas in the prisons. Therefore, they cannot be linked to specific inmates. Two stings have been found in cells and the inmates have been given a disciplinary sanction.
