This share has been stable between 0.30 and 0.50 since February.
Svend Ellermann-Eriksen, who is chief physician at the Department of Microbiology at Aarhus University Hospital and who researches viruses, also assesses that infection rates have looked stable recently.
– This means that even though we have reopened a little, the numbers have not started to rise sharply. So I think it is good that we can continue a cautious reopening of society, says Svend Ellermann-Eriksen.
The number of hospitalized corona patients increases by seven to 204.
Since March 1, the number of inpatients has been between 179 and 243 – far from the record level of January 4 with 964 corona patients.
Of the 204 inpatients, 41 are in intensive care units. 29 of them are helped by a respirator to breathe.
One more corona-related death has been recorded in the past 24 hours.
Thus, a total of 2447 people with proven covid-19 have died since the epidemic hit the country in February last year.
239,103 lightning tests have also been performed in the last 24 hours.
Due to uncertainty about the test results, the positive cases from lightning tests are not included in the statistics on cases of infection. It only makes responses from PCR tests.
The figures from the Statens Serum Institut also show that almost one million Danes – 995,672 people – have received at least one injection of a vaccine against covid-19.
That equates to 17 percent of the population.
467,955 people – equivalent to eight percent – have received both plugs and are considered fully vaccinated.
On Wednesday, the Danish health authorities decided to drop the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine, after there have been a few cases where people vaccinated with the vaccine have experienced serious side effects.
The decision means that all citizens over the age of 50 are now expected to have been offered two vaccine shots in the last week of June.
That is three weeks later than the previous plan.
