- Several large trials are underway around the country where material from the encrypted service Encrochat is part of the evidence – but there are still more suspected crimes to be investigated, says Ted Esplund, at the police’s National Operations Department, project manager for the work with Encrochat.
- These include suspected drug offenses, money laundering offenses and other financial crimes.
- According to Ted Esplund, the Swedish police have so far had access to around a thousand user accounts conversations, and he believes that this will be doubled before the work is completed.
