The number of infections has been stably low for so long that the Capital Region of Denmark now sees it as appropriate to remove visit restrictions at the region’s hospitals.
It writes the region in a press release.
Regional Council Chairman Sophie Hæstorp Andersen (S) is pleased that it will now be possible for patients to have more visits again.
– Now the general infection in the metropolitan area has come down to such a low level that we can now once again open up for relatives who want to visit patients in the hospitals, she says.
However, not all hospitals in the region have the visiting restrictions lifted.
The Danish Agency for Patient Safety has ordered that the visit restrictions be maintained at Herlev Hospital and Hvidovre Hospital until 13 May.
This is because in the surrounding municipalities there is still a high infection pressure with coronavirus.
Until the visit restrictions are lifted, patients at the two hospitals have only a limited opportunity to receive visits.
The visit restrictions do not apply in critical situations that include visits by close relatives of critically ill or dying patients.
