Current restrictions prohibit gatherings of more than six people. The protesters planned to march from Senate Square towards Parliament and onwards to Helsinki Central Station, but were not allowed after police intervened and closed Aleksanterinkatu.

The police were also forced to stop a pre-approved demonstration, which is already taking place at Helsinki Central Station, when some protesters of the illegal demonstration joined. Of the 17 people arrested, 16 have received fines for non-compliance with police orders.
