Helsinki police suspect the involvement of minors in a deadly stabbing incident at the main railway station on Monday night, April 19th.
Police were called to the scene at 8:30 p.m., when the complaint was directed at a battle between about 10 people. The incident took place at the street level of the tunnel entrance between tracks 1 and 2 at the end of Kaisaniemi station.
The 24-year-old stabbing victim died soon after the first officers arrived on the scene.
"Police quickly caught the suspects at Malmi railway station, where they had traveled by train after the events. The suspects in the murder are minors," detective inspector Jukka Larkio was reported in a police press release.
The police added that since the preliminary investigation into the stabbing has only just begun, the order of events will be further clarified, and the Helsinki police will welcome all eyewitness reports by e-mail: [email protected].
