Two men aged 19 and 20 were convicted in Copenhagen City Court on Tuesday for a total of no less than 794 criminal offenses.
One was sentenced to three years and 11 months in prison, while the other received two years and ten months in prison.
This is stated by the Copenhagen Police in a press release.
The police came on the trail of the two men after a violent street robbery in June 2019. Here, the police found the 20-year-old, and the further investigation led the police to the 19-year-old.
The two men facilitated part of the police work as they had filmed themselves with their phones while committing violence, vandalism or violations of the traffic law.
In addition to the street robbery, they were convicted of a total of eight violent assaults. One of them they committed together. The others were committed along with other perpetrators or alone.
In several cases, the aggravated assault was recorded on video and subsequently shared on social media.
The most serious crime was the rape of a 14-year-old girl. The eldest was convicted of consummated rape, while the other was convicted of sexual intercourse other than intercourse.
The verdict also includes several cases of data fraud, where they have misused other people’s payment cards. According to the verdict, they swindled a total of 100,000 kroner. In addition, they were convicted of attempting to defraud themselves of an additional 700,000 kroner.
In addition, there are ten car thefts and, for one, a streak of traffic offenses.
Most of the crimes were committed in Indre By and on Islands Brygge in 2019.
Senior prosecutor Sara Dalgaard also wanted the two men deported, but the court chose to give them a warning.
– It is a comprehensive case, and I will now read the verdict to assess whether we should appeal the case, says Sara Dalgaard.
– I do not think I have previously seen an indictment similar to this, and it testifies to how serious the case is.
One of the men’s defenders, lawyer Adam Henning-Bengtson, says that the two convicts are also considering whether they will appeal the verdict to the high court.
