But although many welcome the gradual easing of restrictions, there is growing criticism that outdoor education for 5th-8th graders. class does not work in many places. Therefore, many students continue to be taught at home.
However, Mette Frederiksen encourages parents and students to have a little more patience:
โ There are paradoxes when we open up because not everything can open at once. If there are any challenges in the school area, then we must solve it in the sector partnership. And if there are local challenges, then you have to solve it locally.
โ But I can also see that outdoor teaching works in many places, says Mette Frederiksen.
She stresses that the government and a broad political majority in the recent reopening agreement have tried to take into account the great desire for more schooling for the children.
On Wednesday, the 5th-8th graders had the opportunity to go to school again all the time โ if the teaching is outdoors every other week.
However, more than half of the schools stick to distance learning one week because it is not practically possible to hold outdoor education.
