The iconic building “Bølgen” with a view of Vejle Fjord has won several awards for its architecture.
But now, in the program “Operation X” on TV2, doubts have been raised as to whether parts of the building have been erected in violation of the building permit.
This now makes Vejle Municipality demand an answer from the developer, Bach Gruppen with headquarters in Viborg.
It writes Vejle County Folkeblad.
Last year, the Bach Group was reported to the police by the City of Copenhagen on suspicion of construction fraud on a 23-storey high-rise on Amager.
The police case concerns the type of concrete that was used for the construction on Amager.
In Vejle, the Bach Group’s construction method is in the spotlight.
The “wave” consists of five buildings. The Bach Group has been responsible for three of the buildings.
Head of planning, building and environment in Vejle Municipality Lars Buksti tells Vejle Amts Folkeblad that the three buildings have been built according to a different method than permission was granted.
– It is a known construction method, but the client (Bach Gruppen, ed.) Should have stated that they changed the construction method, and they did not, says Lars Buksti to the newspaper.
– Therefore, we have now given them an order to document that the calculations that form the basis of the method have been made by a certified consultant, he says.
The Bach Group has been given a deadline of Friday to respond to Vejle Municipality.
In a written response to Vejle Amts Folkeblad, the company writes that it did not find it necessary to inform Vejle Municipality about the changed method.
– But to ensure that there is absolutely no doubt that things are in order, we have notified Vejle Municipality that we want to explain the change, and our consulting engineers are very close to completing that documentation. to the municipality, the company writes.
In the same breath, the Bach Group rejects that there is reason to be concerned about the stability of the building.
