The 31 newly elected Greenlandic members of parliament, Inatsisartut, will meet on Friday at 3 pm Danish time for the constituent assembly.
It writes the Greenlandic media KNR.
Here, the newly elected must be approved for Inatsisartut, where a chairman must also be elected.
Likewise, the new government must also be formally approved. Here, the left-wing party Inuit Ataqatigiits (IA) leader and winner of the election, Múte B. Egede, must be approved as chairman of the Naalkkersuisut, the national government of Greenland.
IA will form government with Naleraq party. The two parties have a narrow majority of 16 seats in Inatsisartut, while Atassut is the supporting party.
As the oldest member of parliament, it is Hans Enoksen, former chairman of the national government and now leader of Naleraq, who will chair the meeting.
Hans Enoksen is also running for Speaker of Parliament.
Ministers must also be approved for the meeting, and committee members in Inatsisartut can be found.
However, it is not a given that all 31 will be approved to sit in Inatsisartut. In 2013, a newly elected member was not approved due to a violent conviction.
A requirement to become a member is that you have not violated the law.
The election in Greenland took place on 6 April.
Of the 31 elected members of parliament, this is the first time 11 of them have been elected.
