Kela’s front guides are published in English, Russian and Estonian

Kela's front guides are published in English, Russian and Estonian

Each front guide covers a specific group of benefits available to Kela:
• Pensions and retirement
• Families with children
• Moving to or from Finland
• Students and conscripts
• Health and rehabilitation
• Social assistance
• Unemployment
• General housing allowance.

Based on plain text

The translations of the front guides are based on the source text written in clear Finnish, where the content, vocabulary and sentence structure have been clarified for easier readability. The source text written in plain language is therefore a good starting point for translations.

Translated versions can be especially useful for people who have only recently moved to Finland and do not yet understand Finnish. In order to facilitate the integration process, it is particularly important to have access to material written in a familiar language. After gaining more language skills, readers can go to Kela’s websites and brochures with text in Finnish and Swedish.

Printed copies can be ordered from Kela

Kela’s front guides are available at Kela’s service points and citizen service centers. Partners can order copies by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The minimum order is 10 copies in the brochure.

The 2021 editions of the front guides are also available at www.kela.fi.
