It was a neighbor who sounded the alarm about the fire. The person called 112 at 04.14, after which the fire brigade and police drove out to the scene. Here they were greeted by heavy smoke from the property.
– The development of smoke meant that we had to evacuate the neighboring property, says Ole Aamann.
– At the fire site, we subsequently find a burnt-in person, and this morning work is being done on the site so that a cause of the fire can be determined, the chief of guards continues.
Police have only notified one of the dead person’s relatives. Therefore, one does not want to disclose anything about the gender or age of the deceased.
The person is the second to be found dead after a fire in a matter of hours.
Monday night there was a fire in an apartment at a care center in Vejle, and also here a person was found dead.
Southeast Jutland Police stated on Tuesday night that it is probably the apartment’s 87-year-old male resident. The relatives of the man have been notified.
It was shortly before 22.00 that the fire brigade was called out to a fire in the apartment at the care center Betty Sørensen Parken.
The apartment was badly damaged by smoke, but the fire did not spread to other parts of the care center.
