The opposition National Coalition Party (NCP) has taken the lead in the latest Yle party support poll. prime minister Sanna MarinHowever, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the opposition party, the Finnish Party, received almost as much support. The Greens suffer the greatest loss of support. The support of the second governing party, the Center, fell to 11.7 per cent.
The difference of two points between the NCP and the SDP is just outside the margin of error of 1.9 percentage points. At the same time, the SDP and the Finns are practically tied to another place, separated by only one tenth of a percentage point.
In Yle’s previous municipal election poll, the same three parties were actually tied for first place, and the Finnish party had an ultra-haired leadership position.
Central, greens slip
Clearly behind the top three are two governing parties, the Center Party and the Greens, which disagreed over the use of highly polluting peat as energy during last week’s protracted budget framework negotiations. The process also does not seem to have benefited, as support for both has fallen since last month’s survey. Support for the Minister of the Interior Maria OhisaloThe Greens fell 1.5 percent while the Minister of Science and Culture Annika Saarikko ‘s Center lost less than one percentage point.
The archipelago has failed to stop supporting the rural center since he took over as party leader last September.
Fifth-placed Greens had the worst performances to date this year, dropping to 10.6 per cent support.
"The Greens will lose support to other government partners and the national contact point," said the director of economic research Tuomo Turja. He notes that some former Greens have also sidelined and this time do not express support for any party.
NCP obtains support from cities
The National Contact Point, on the other hand, has increased its support in Uusimaa, especially in Helsinki. It has also seen a bump in other large cities and gathered some former supporters of the Finnish party.
The SDP was the largest party when pollster Economic Research began research aimed at municipal elections in January. Since then, the prime minister’s party has fallen to third place.
There was no major change in support for smaller parties, although one of the younger government partners, the Swedish People’s Party, received one point for support of 5.3 per cent.
Yle’s next municipal election survey will be published 10. June, just before the municipal elections on 13 June.
Economic research interviewed 2,712 people 6.4. – 4 May. Of these, 1,757 interviewees said the party favored the upcoming municipal elections. The margin of error is 1.9 percentage points in both directions.
