Due to heavy rain, the southern part of the Helsingør motorway in the direction of Copenhagen was blocked for traffic for a few hours on Thursday night.
This was stated by the Danish Road Directorate, which initially expected that the section would be blocked until rush hour.
But at 3.30 the Road Directorate informs that the section has now reopened.
– Good news. Route 19 on the Helsingør motorway in the direction of Copenhagen has now reopened, the message reads on Twitter.
Thus, road users on the highway avoid having to find alternative routes on Thursday morning.
– If the water does not disappear by itself, then we do not expect a reopening until after eight o’clock on Thursday morning. Road users must adjust to extended travel time until after rush hour, said Karin Kildetoft from the Danish Road Directorate’s Traffic Center earlier in the night.
It was large amounts of water on the roadways shortly before exit three at Kildegårdsvej that caused the Danish Road Directorate to block the section.
