- Pregnant women who belong to a risk group are now recommended to be vaccinated against covid-19.
- For the heavily pregnant mother of two Johanna Lindé in Sundsbruk outside Sundsvall, it was a long-awaited message.
- “Should it be a risk, I think both the midwife and the person who makes the appointment would say that you are too close to the birth, so it can start. Then I would know and then I would wait,” she says.
To be prioritized for vaccination, the pregnant woman must meet one of the following criteria:
Is pregnant after week 12 and is over 35 years old.
Is pregnant after week 12 and had a BMI over 30 at enrollment in maternity care.
Is pregnant after week 12 and has another risk of illness.
There is no reason to give the vaccine during the first third of pregnancy, according to the Swedish Public Health Agency.
