The Finnish tax administration has extended the deadline for filing a tax return by a few days because the service on the MyTax website was suspended on Tuesday.
Tuesday night – the disturbance prevented some people from making their return ahead of schedule, which was that night at 11:59 p.m.
"Guests have extra time from Friday 14 May to 23:59. Customers will not be charged late fees for using the extended deadline," the tax administration said in a statement released Wednesday.
About 1.7 million taxpayers were ahead of Tuesday’s deadline, but the authority estimates most of them were able to file their taxes on time.

About 164,000 customers logged into the MyTax service on Tuesday and about 45,000 tax returns were filed, according to the service product owner, Joonas Jarva.
He said the number of customers who were unable to deliver returns on time ranged from a few hundred to a thousand.
Jarva said the maintenance problem was due to a technical malfunction.
The day before the deadline, Monday, there were more than 170,000 logins to the site, and about 70,000 refunds were submitted.
The tax authority announced Wednesday that the MyTax service was operational and able to process tax returns normally.
