– In general, the Danish Road Directorate expects that there will be more cars in the large holiday home areas, especially on Jutland’s west coast, by Skagen and in North Zealand, the Danish Road Directorate writes in the announcement.
Wednesday at 14-19 and Thursday at 11-14, the Danish Road Directorate expects extended travel time in a westerly direction on the E20 Vestmotorvejen and Fynske Motorvej as well as via route 21 Holbækmotorvejen towards Sjællands Odde.
It is not only motorists who are looking west. There is also an increased demand for tickets for the coming days, says DSB’s information manager, Tony Bispeskov.
– There are some who want to travel across the country, and then of course there are also some who go to holiday homes, he says.
Due to the corona pandemic, DSB only sells tickets for 50-70 percent of the seats, depending on the type of train. Travelers must book a seat ticket, and some departures, especially on Wednesday and Thursday, may be sold out, the information manager states.
– We do everything to make the trains as long as possible at the moment, but even though we make the trains maximum long, we must have a maximum of half of the customers in the intercity and light rail trains due to the seat ticket requirement.
– So there is an upper limit for how many we can have, he says.
Tony Bispeskov encourages people who know they have to travel in the coming days to orientate themselves quickly. At the same time, he asks customers to cancel their seat tickets if it turns out they are not going to use them anyway.
– Then you give the opportunity to someone else who can use it, he says.
The Danish Road Directorate estimates that there may also be more cars on the roads on Sunday, especially in the period 12-16. In particular, there will be many driving from west to east.
