- Sweden’s volleyball ladies are ready for the European Championships for the first time since 1983. Sweden beat Ukraine away 3-2 in sets after a real thriller where the megastar Isabelle Haak emerged as the big hero with a total of 37 points.
- “In the fifth set, you saw everyone’s fighting spirit and it was just the last energy there. We met a great opposition and it was really nice that we won and are ready now “, says Haak to Radiosporten after Sweden won the fifth set with 15-11.
- “This is a huge success for Swedish volleyball, it is this young team that will be a medal team at the next Olympics”, says Radiosporten’s Andreas Matz who followed the match. The European Championship finals will be played from 18 August to 4 September in Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria and Romania.
