The continuation and extension of subsidies to protect companies that had to temporarily cease their activities, the payment of private pension funds, a special supplement to child benefit and other coronavirus pandemic protection measures were approved on May 11 by Althingi.
Bjarni Benediktsson, Minister of Finance and Economy, recently presented bills to support individuals and entities in the final stages of the fight against the pandemic.
Private pension funds may be collected throughout the year
Provisional disbursement of a certain proportion of private pension funds was again authorized. A similar permit was used at the beginning of the epidemic, which was valid until the end of 2020. In order to mitigate the effects of the epidemic, which lasted longer than initially anticipated, it was decided to reintroduce the measure.
Private pension funds will be able to be paid out for personal use until the end of 2021 and the same amount and period criteria apply as in 2020. The maximum payment is SEK 12 million over a 15-month period and the monthly payment is a maximum of SEK 800,000.
It was agreed to extend and extend the payments of the supporting entities. Some 3,200 grant applications have already been received and over NOK 3.1 billion have been disbursed.
The new act on subsidies stipulates that operators who suffered from the pandemic experiencing a 40% decrease in revenues in the calendar month in the period from November 1, 2020 to November 30, 2021 compared to the same calendar month in 2019, may receive a subsidy. The minimum income decline has so far been 60%, but the lowered threshold applies back to November 2020.
