Finnish Minister for Europe on aid package: Difficult decision

Finnish Minister for Europe on aid package: Difficult decision
  • The Finnish government is relieved by the Riksdag’s decision to approve the EU recovery fund, says the country’s European Minister Tytti Tuppurainen (S) to Swedish Radio.
  • At the same time, she admits that it has not been easy to decide whether the fund should be partly financed with joint EU loans.
  • “We think that each Member State should be responsible for its own economy, but now we are in a special situation and it is better to act together,” she said.
