A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a double murder in Kalundborg in November last year.
This is stated by the Central and West Zealand Police in a press release.
Four men are already in custody in the case, while a fifth is in absentia.
The shooting took place on 17 November last year in the parking lot in front of the supermarket Meny on Nørre Allé in Kalundborg.
Here, two men were killed by gunfire, while a third was hit by multiple shots. The badly injured man survived and could be discharged after ten days of treatment in hospital.
The police received the report of the shooting at 18.12. About 15 minutes later came a report that a burning car was parked on Eskebjergvej a few kilometers east of Kalundborg.
But another car has also had police interest. A white Audi A4 Avant station wagon with stolen Norwegian number plates was found on Engvej around the time of the crime and seized.
In April, police released photos of the car and a video of one of the perpetrators. It generated several inquiries from the public, who have assisted the police in the investigation.
– The public has also provided information about the case in continuation of the fact that in April we published a video of one of the perpetrators as well as a picture of a white Audi that was seized on the day of the crime, says Police Commissioner Michael Robdrup Andreasen.
– We are very satisfied with these inquiries.
The victims of the shooting were three men in their early 20s from Greater Copenhagen.
The four men who are already in custody are also in their early 20s and from Greater Copenhagen. The 20-year-old who was arrested on Wednesday is from Kalundborg. He will be produced in constitutional interrogation on Thursday.
In addition, another man, as mentioned, is in custody in absentia.
That is, he is at large, but that a judge has judged that the suspicion against him is strong enough that he will be able to be imprisoned. Among other things, this gives the police the opportunity to call for him internationally.
Although six men are now suspected in connection with the double murder, the police do not rule out that there will be more arrests in the case.
– The cynical shooting on the open street is completely unacceptable. The investigation has top priority here in the police district and will continue to have it until the case is completely closed, says Police Commissioner Michael Robdrup Andreassen.
