- 18 of the country’s 21 regions have started vaccination of phase four, shows a review that Ekot has done.
- In most of those regions, those who are 50 years old can now book vaccination appointments.
- Region Jämtland Härjedalen stands out, however, a reduced interest in phase 3 means that the region is now opening up from 40 years.
The regions have come different distances when it comes to vaccination of the largest and last group, phase four, which includes people between 18 and 59 years, shows a review of the 1177 Care Guide that Ekot did earlier this week.
18 of the country’s 21 regions has started vaccination of phase four. In most of those regions, it is now possible for those who are 50 years old to book a vaccine appointment.
Region Jämtland Härjedalen, which starts phase four today, stands out – the region has chosen to open the booking for people between 40 and 59 years.
That this can be done is due to the fact that the willingness to vaccinate in phase three has been somewhat lower than in previous phases.
There is also strategy behind the decision because the region sees that more young people need hospital care for covid-19.
– So then we want to reach that group as fast as we can, but that does not mean that we have more vaccine doses or vaccinate more individuals, but only that we open up to a slightly wider target group a little earlier than we had thought, says Cornelia Brusmark, vaccine coordinator in the Jämtland Härjedalen region.
Västerbotten, Västernorrland and Östergötland have not yet started vaccinating in phase four.
