A well-known Copenhagen parish priest has gone on leave after a complaint submitted by several women about abusive behavior.
It writes Kristeligt Dagblad, which is in possession of the complaint. Among other things, See and Hear and BT have previously described the complaint.
The complaint is based on five women’s experiences with the pastor.
The women complain that, among other things, in connection with pastoral care conversations, he has made advances while they were in a vulnerable situation.
The complaint has been forwarded to the bishop of the Diocese of Copenhagen Peter Skov-Jakobsen and other places where the priest works.
Several of the women, according to the complaint, also initiated a relationship with the pastor despite what is described as inappropriate behavior.
However, conditions have stopped relatively quickly in all cases.
Forensic theologian Kristine Garde, who has been assistant to priests in civil service cases, tells Kristeligt Dagblad that it is a burdensome case.
– In cases where there are several accusations against a priest spread over a number of years, it will be a burden for the priest in the exercise of his office to have the predicate that he can not stay away from the women of the congregation, says the forensic theologian to the newspaper.
The priest is also accused of violating his duty of confidentiality in several cases.
In one case, according to the complaint, he shared information from a pastoral care interview, and in another case, he shared private information about a woman he had bisat.
Violation of the duty of confidentiality can be punishable, writes Kristeligt Dagblad.
The newspaper has been in contact with the priest, who according to his own statement is not allowed to speak.
The Diocese of Copenhagen does not wish to comment to Kristeligt Dagblad on whether a personal case is pending.
Mourning is a confidential and anonymous conversation with, for example, a priest about existential topics and problems.
