With just over two months to the Olympics, breaststroke swimmer Erik Persson made this year’s first competition in the European Championships. He took the European Championship bronze in 200 breaststroke – and lowered his Swedish record to 2.06.99.

The Russian Anton Tjupkov won before the Dutchman Arno Kamminga.

Persson was in silver for a long time, but Tjupkov came strong during the last 50 meters and Kamminga also passed.
