The behind-the-scenes police have accused Nets of abusing a dominant position in the market.
There are demands for fines, informs the Bagmandspolitiet, which is actually called the Public Prosecutor for Special Economic and International Crime (Søik).
According to Søik, Nets Denmark A / S (formerly Teller A / S) has for a number of years from 2012 to 2016 actually locked a number of large customers’ choice of redemption of payment cards and mobile payment solutions.
Among other things, this has been done by giving hefty discounts, and thus the company has broken the law, Søik believes. Therefore, an indictment has been filed for violation of competition law.
The case concerns a number of discounts and conditions in contracts for large customers, which have actually contributed to foreclosing the market, because Nets must have applied so-called exclusivity discounts to 14 major customers.
Among the customers, the Bagmandspolitiet mentions the department store Magasin and the clothing chain H&M.
– When you are a large player with a very dominant position in the market, it is very serious if you abuse that position to make it more difficult for new and smaller competitors to enter the market, says special prosecutor Niels Dengsø Kjærsgaard in the announcement. .
