However, it requires a consultation with a doctor before one can get the vaccines.
So far, 18,000 people have booked time to talk to a doctor, Practio said in a press release.
The consultations take place over the computer and last about 10 minutes. And it is entirely up to the doctor to assess whether a vaccination can be prescribed or not. It is also up to the doctor to assess which one of the vaccines is prescribed.
According to doctor and co-founder of Practio Jonas Nilsen, it is not interested citizens who are missing.
– We are fighting to get enough doctors – but see greater and greater interest from them, says Jonas Nilsen.
The goal is to reach 10,000 vaccinations a day, he explains.
The vaccinations are initially taking place in the DGI City, but it is planned that they will be spread to the rest of the country. Half of the interested parties who have registered live outside Copenhagen.
– We are working on setting up vaccination sites in the big cities, but there is nothing in place yet, so we can not report anything, says Jonas Nilsen.
The director of the Jutland refrigeration company Lowenco, Mikael Hoier, became the first to receive a vaccine under the new voluntary optional scheme.
Together with 17 employed refrigeration fitters, he was stabbed on Sunday with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
The director and refrigeration fitters have agreed to the voluntary vaccine scheme because they are going to India to complete the installation of 20 freezers at a vaccine factory.
