Many people terminate their pregnancy when the fetus has Down’s syndrome

• In Denmark, who are told that the fetus has Down’s syndrome, 95 percent choose to terminate the pregnancy, according to figures from a Danish study.
• But what it looks like in Sweden – we do not know, says Charlotta Ingvoldstad-Malmgren, genetic counselor at Karolinska University Hospital:
• “One can say that the majority today choose to interrupt. But then one must also bear in mind that those who do not intend to abort or intend to abort they may not choose to do fetal diagnostics either.”
