Antti KurvinenThe chairman of the Central Party’s parliamentary group will take over the role of Minister of Science and Culture as the party’s leader Annika Saarikko intervenes as Minister of Finance.
The newly elected Minister of Science and Culture, a native of Southern Ostrobothnia, said he was an avid supporter of the Finnish baseball and amateur theater fan.
"The drama is close to my heart. There are no two ways" he told reporters on Wednesday.
Kurvinen said that Finlandäs’ art and sports industry is still experiencing the most difficult times of the pandemic.
"Letäs is working together to rebuild [the sector] coronavirus ruins," he said.
The archipelago slides into the Ministry of Finance
Last weekend, Saarikko announced that he would replace his party colleague, the Minister of Finance Matti Vanhanen.
The planned medium-term exchange was approved when Vanhanen accepted the position Katri Kulmuni, who resigned last summer after admitting to having used taxpayers ’money to buy professional coaching services.
President Sauli Niinistö Kurvinen’s meeting on Thursday is scheduled to be confirmed.
