It was presented on Thursday led by Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen (S).
The four major welfare educations are teacher, educator, nurse and social worker.
Five new offers of university education outside the largest cities will also be established.
The plan must therefore generally ensure that fewer people study in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Aalborg and Odense in the future, and that more instead choose to study in the province.
A large part of the plot had been leaked to various media in advance. But the main features are now officially confirmed.
The government wants 60 percent of the four major welfare educations to be located outside the major cities.
Therefore, around 1,300 educational places from the welfare educations must be moved away from Copenhagen, Aarhus, Odense and Aalborg. And at the same time, up to 1,000 new places will be established.
In addition, the government will reduce enrollment in higher education in the four major cities and on the universities’ main campuses by up to ten percent. However, there are a few exceptions.
The restriction will be phased in gradually from the academic year 2022/23 onwards.
