The Radicals first wanted clarity on the substance of the matter before they could agree on the criticism.
– We have been waiting to decide how we should handle the case in relation to the ministers’ efforts, because we would like to see where the case ended, says Martin Lidegaard (R), who is chairman of the Foreign Policy Board.
It is usually the individual ministers who get the political noses, but this time it is the whole government as well as the foreign minister.
This is because the Minister of Justice Nick Hækkerup (S) and the Minister of Defense Trine Bramsen (S) have also had a responsibility to inform the Folketing. In the beginning, however, they forwarded the case to Kofod.
According to defense spokeswoman Eva Flyvholm, the Unity List believes that the repatriation of mothers and children has an impact on the outcome of the case.
– It means a lot to us in the Unity List that most of the children and mothers come home. It is also absolutely crucial that we get the last children home.
– It comes into play that the government is acting now, but it also lies in the fact that along the way we have found out that there is some information where some ministers have put their hand on the hob and said that they have not actually had them themselves or known to them, she says.
