All restrictions in connection with the corona pandemic will be phased out on 1 September, except in the nightlife, for travel and for events with more than 2000 participants, where coronapas must be presented until 1 October.
It appears from an agreement that has been entered into by a majority of the parliamentary parties early Thursday morning.
The lifting of the restrictions will take place gradually over the summer.
– I am glad that a broad majority in the Folketing has now agreed on a plan that means that all restrictions – except in the nightlife and in connection with certain events and travel to and from Denmark – will be gone in September, says Minister of Justice Nick Hækkerup (S).
According to Minister of Health Magnus Heunicke, the phasing out of the restrictions can be done, as Denmark is in a favorable position in relation to the pandemic.
– Everything we have sighed for and hoped for can only be done because we have such strong control over the epidemic with low hospitalization rates and infection rates and control over the various variants, says Magnus Heunicke (S) at a press conference.
However, he also stresses that epidemic control remains important, and therefore the corona passport also becomes an important tool during the phasing out.
The corona passport is proof that you have either been vaccinated, have been infected within the last six months or have a negative corona test that is a maximum of 72 hours old.
The corona passport will also be phased out along the way, with places with the least risk of infection, including libraries and leisure facilities, already beginning the phasing out from 14 June.
There is agreement among the parties that if the infection develops in a worrying direction, the phasing out may be postponed, the text of the agreement states.
The agreement has been entered into between the government, the Liberal Party, the Danish People’s Party, the Socialist People’s Party, the Radicals, the Unity List, the Conservatives, the Liberal Alliance and the Alternative.
