This is the average in the Nordic countries, and the figures vary from country to country. Piracy in Sweden is highest (17%) and lowest in Finland and Denmark (both 12%). In total, this is about 2.9 million pirates in the Nordic countries. Almost half of the pirates are Swedish.
– Streaming has been a big challenge for Nordic rights holders for years. Almost 22,000 titles are currently available to Nordic consumers through legal online video services. Still, many want to use illegal sources to get content, says Natalia Borelius, a senior analyst at Mediavision. This shows that availability is not the only issue of piracy. Other measures may be needed if these figures are to be calculated.
