– We know well who he is and we have been in telephone contact with him. He’s kind of gone into aviator hiding, but he knows very well that he should turn to us.
– It should probably succeed in getting him in. He just needs to get a lawyer, and then he’s come in by himself when he’s ready. It will probably be during Monday or Tuesday, says Mads Dam.
He does not want to disclose more about the driver of the car, other than that it is a man.
On Sunday night, the motorist raced through an area with urban settlements, where you can drive a maximum of 50 kilometers per hour.
The high speed alone means that the driver can be called a mad driver. But also in other ways the driving was spectacular as he drove both in the direction of traffic, opposite red, down a path system and into ball fields.
The so-called pursuit began when officers at about a quarter past one in a parking lot approached the motorist, after which he fled.
After some time, they managed to stop the car – a Mercedes – after which the driver fled on foot.
Due to the wild driving, the male motorist can well expect to be charged when he shows up at the police station, says Mads Dam.
– There are a number of traffic offenses for which he must be charged. But where it just lands from there, I can not say anything about that yet, says the chief of guards on Monday morning.
The car in question was subsequently seized by the police, even though it is owned by another person.
He has since protested against the seizure, which is now going to court.
