The activity in Jomfru Ane Gade in Aalborg has been non-existent for 14 days after the Danish Agency for Patient Safety closed the party street from 3 June.
But now bars and pubs in the popular party street will once again be allowed to let guests in from on Thursday, writes TV2 Nord.
It is the declining number of infections that makes the reopening possible. The decision to close the street temporarily was made by the Folketing’s Epidemic Committee, as it turned out that many of those recently infected in Aalborg had been in the street.
According to TV2 Nord, it is formally the Folketing that must decide whether the street will reopen, but when the 14-day closure expires on Thursday, it will not be extended.
Aalborg’s municipal director, Christian Roslev, met on Monday with representatives from the restaurateurs in Jomfru Ane Gade, the local police and Aalborg Municipality.
Based on the meeting, it is clear that test ambassadors from the Danish Agency for Patient Safety will be present in the street, just as the restaurateurs on their own initiative will demand corona passes for outdoor serving from 6 pm to midnight.
At the same time, it remains a requirement that guests follow the other corona restrictions known from the rest of the country,
