Storm Vieno cut off power to more than 60,000 households in more than 100 municipalities by Tuesday afternoon, according to data released by the energy body Energy industry.
Strong winds felled trees throughout western and central Finland throughout the Tuesday morning storm.
To date, the strongest gust was recorded at 6.00 in Kaskinen on the coast of Ostrobothnia, with wind speeds of just over 28 meters per second.
Train connections between Tampere and Pori were stopped when a tree fell on power lines.

Emergency services are involved in dozens of attention texts
The wind warnings issued by the Finnish Meteorological Institute were valid on Tuesday both at sea and on land in a large part of Central Finland.
Yellow warnings were in force in North Ostrobothnia, North Karelia, North Savo and Kainuu. Current warnings indicate that the winds are gusty and strong enough to cause major damage. In addition to power outages, there may be disruptions in telecommunications and other services.
The rescue services of Central Finland participated in almost 70 events on Tuesday morning, according to the head of the rescue department of Central Finland Juha Saario.

Tomi-Pekka Olkkonen A member of the Pirkanmaa fire brigade told Yle that rescue services had provided more than 100 aids in the area.
"Damage management, fallen trees and we helped a few floating saunas in Pyhäjärvi," he said.
Extensive power outages
The storm has also cut off the power of thousands of people. The electricity company Elenia said that it had more than 7,000 unused customers in Central Finland on Tuesday morning, which affected the households of Jyväskylä, Jämsä and Äänekoski.
Savon Voima’s customers in Northern Savonia also experienced power outages, and lunch time affected about 26,000 households, according to the company’s network manager. Pekka Miettinen.
Miettinen told Yle that as winds in the area are forecast to intensify on Tuesday afternoon, probable power outages are likely.

In Pirkanmaa, the electricity supplier Tampereen Sähkölaitos tweeted that its contractors were trying to restore electricity when the storm cut off supply in Teisko north of Tampere.
Trains canceled
On Tuesday morning, Storm Vieno also suspended train traffic. Strong winds felled wood on railway power lines in Lielahti, Tampere. M-train traffic between Nokia and Tampere was restored in the morning.
The track infrastructure was also damaged between Harjavalta and Nakkila, stopping train traffic.
The route was served by replacement buses whose train services are unlikely to continue normally on the route before 18.00, according to the transport company Fintraffic.
According to information provided by Fintraffic magazine early Tuesday afternoon, there were no trains on time in the country.
