It was one of them, the 19-year-old man, who was remanded in custody for four weeks on Sunday night.
He is also accused of driving too fast and according to Special Investigation East (SEØ), which is a department of the Copenhagen Police, for driving under the influence of narcotics.
This is disputed by the man’s defense lawyer, Søren Bech, however.
– I can state that he has not been charged with driving under the influence of narcotics, he writes in an email to Ritzau.
The duty officer at SEØ maintains on Sunday evening at 9.40 pm that the man is charged with driving under the influence of narcotics.
The other two who were in the car during the collision have been released.
This was stated by the duty officer from the Copenhagen Police on Sunday at 16.55.
The collision took place on Borups Allé next to the side road Vestergårdsporten. Borups Allé connects Frederiksberg, Nørrebro and Copenhagen’s Northwest quarter and is one of Copenhagen’s busiest roads.
According to Ekstra Bladet, the 19-year-old man told during the constitutional hearing that he had driven from the North-West district in Copenhagen towards Amager after watching football with his friends.
Here, two cars had raced in front of him on some of the ride. One of the cars had overtaken the 19-year-old man inside and hit the other car, after which the 19-year-old hit the 21-year-old with his car.
On Sunday morning, the police would not say the details of the collision.
It is therefore unknown whether the 21-year-old stepped out in front of the car.
The episode was reported to police by witnesses at 01.22 p.m.
The 21-year-old man’s relatives have been notified.
