BERLIN June 23 (Xinhua) โ A stay from Emil Forsberg and a goal from Viktor Claesson helped Sweden win Group E after defeating Poland 3-2 in the latest group match in Euro 2020 on Wednesday.
The Swedes took a dream start against Poland when Forsberg needed less than two minutes to open points after the striker unleashed a low diagonal strike in the far post.
The Leipzig striker remained a threat and doubled the advantage in the hour after using Dejan Kulusevskiโs good build-up work.
Poland had a mountain to climb for qualification but two goals from Robert Lewandowski equalized the score and sparked hopes.
However, Poland could not turn things around as a late goal from Viktor Claesson sealed the deal for the Swedes, who finish on top of the position in Group E.
With the result, Sweden reached the top spot with 7 points followed by Spain (5 points), Slovakia (3 points) and Poland (1 point).
