A 55-year-old man has been remanded in custody for four weeks on Tuesday. It is the opinion of the police that the man raped his 15-year-old daughter while she was sleeping.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Central and West Jutland Police writes this on Twitter.
The court hearing was held behind closed doors, which is why the public does not have access to hear the man’s explanation in court.
In return, the public can gain insight into what the 55-year-old is charged with.
Linette Lysgaard, who is a senior plaintiff at the Central and West Jutland Police, states that the man, in addition to rape, is accused of having had sexual intercourse with a relative in the descending line.
– The rape itself consists of him having intercourse with her in a situation where she was in a state due to deep sleep, where she was unable to resist intercourse, she says.
Police have not yet been able to determine exactly when the rape took place.
However, as the rape resulted in a pregnancy in the daughter, it has been possible for the police to estimate from the age of the fetus when the incident took place.
– The rape caused the girl to become pregnant. It has been the recent studies of the age of the fetus that have determined the period during which this intercourse has taken place, says Linette Lysgaard.
Due to the closed doors, it is not possible to gain insight into how the man explained himself.
Linette Lysgaard states, however, that the man acknowledges intercourse, but denies that there was any question of rape.
He did not appeal the court’s ruling on custody and will therefore be remanded in custody immediately until 31 August, while the police investigate the case further and make technical investigations.
